Job Description

A hardscaping crew leader is responsible for managing a crew to complete a variety of job tasks involving general carpentry, masonry, hardscaping, landscaping, softscaping and maintenance to assist with the completion of projects. Job responsibilities will also require performing general labor duties. This position also has a huge role in building and retaining the team.

Job Responsibilities

 

  1. Manage & perform the execution of Landscaping (LS) & Enhancement (ES) Projects including planning labor, equipment, material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines working with project manager and sales team.

  2. Plan job in an effective manner to ensure optimum job efficiency and effectiveness

  3. Timely requests/ordering of resources (materials, equipment, specialized labor) for projects

  4. Timely requests for trucking/deliveries of these resources

  5. Timely requests for any missing/unknown information/job specs

  6. Manage and installation of walkways, retaining walls, natural stone, fences, decks, pergolas, landscape install, water features, mulching, pruning, weeding, etc.

  7. Operate various hand tools, power tools, and equipment used to complete job duties, including: Power Equipment, Small Engine and large equipment like skid steers, dingo and mini excavator.

  8. Assist in other job-related duties including construction projects, snow removal, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance

  9. Read and interpret designs, blueprints, structural drawings, and job specifications to perform work activities

  10. Understand contract specifications and ensures they are met and maintains customers complete satisfaction.

  11. Work with subcontractors on site and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines

  12. On-time execution of project tasks (actual hours <= estimated hours)

  13. Complete or review the following on a daily/weekly basis

  14. paperwork (receipts, service record forms)

  15. Mobile app tasks (LMN Time, 4 O'Clock, Cat Inspect, gmail, drive, calendar)

  16. Responsible for managing crew and work flow by assigning tasks across crew members and sharing daily goals and execution plan with crew members

  17. Conduct on-site training during the work day with new employees and employees in new positions, which cover all company, practices, procedures, health and safety policies

  18. Correcting sub-performing employees (in consultation with managers as needed)

  19. Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to quality or customer satisfaction (perform final walk through w/ client & crews)

  20. Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

  21. Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites, and shop/yard areas by following the 5 S’ (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)

  22. Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily/weekly basis

  23. Wear and enforce appropriate personal protective (PPE) equipment at all times

  24. Comply with all company policies and regulations

  25. Completing all assigned training courses and takes initiative in other learning opportunities.

  26. Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

  27. Reporting all accidents, incidents, hazards, and damage for tracking and correction

Job Responsibilities

Our team needs an Landscape Project Estimator & Manager who will:

  • Do a phone consultation with incoming leads.

  • Meet on site with clients to analyze their needs and priorities and present appropriate proposals.

  • Prepare detailed job packets for production/installation crews.

  • Complete 6-10 estimates every week (proposals ranging from $4,000 to $100,000).

  • Follow up with Clients on past jobs.

  • Communicate proactively with clients and onsite supervisors to keep Clients in the loop about their project progress

  • Use IPad & Smartphone software applications to coordinate and prepare reports about time, budgets, profitability, and other performance indicators.


You’ll work directly with the onsite foreman for crew management. We’ll be looking at how many years of experience you have selling services to consumers. We will also be looking at your experience managing your schedule and workflow.


Solving problems is a daily occurrence and you should be ready to collaborate with an open mind to bring about great win-win solutions. Sound reasoning and an even-keeled disposition are a must.
